ok, that crashes my speed theory...
actually my tests proved partially that too...

so, still not sure what is the cause.

this is starting to look pretty good.
still there is the error-20-30 but as long as it's not always, it can be allowed there.

shawn, can the pending stuff in the event stack be cleared somehow?
as now, we have timer for example 20 secs which should download every 20 secs 20k.
then, once net outage occurs, one event can take 300 secs to execute, by that time there is already 15 calls to that 300 second waiting loop!
and you know what can happen with that.

at some point some wall is going to crash or, the network is back on and board will get 12000 requests for that 20k page!
can this be avoided or are we destined to flood our dear kixtart.org down with this?

the best thing to do (and Im just thinking out loud here) is when you enter a timer event, first thing, set the timer to zero (stop it), then do your timer event processing, then just before you exit the function, set the timer back to 20 secs.

then would not need additional temp var [Razz]

Jooel, you know what, I thought disabling the timer would have worked - but it doesn't.

so, I did:
$loop.ontimer="$$loop.interval=0 update() $$loop.interval=1000*$$looptime"

will see what it comes to.

Yep,

I'm back...

Found my PC locked (was expected as I did this...). The unexpected thing was a popup box that I ran out of Virtual Memory!!! Being unable to logon I had to use the power switch.
Didn't find anything unusual in the eventlogs.

Started the checker today at 7:52 "Middelburg"-time. Will see how long it runs now...

pat, if you check the change I specified above you should see what may have caused your crash.
yesterday at least to here the kixtartBB was offline several times.

this meaning that rc2 would create new jobs every 60 seconds and finally crashing the system.

could make some memory control there too...

anyway, been running now for 16 hours with 9M memory consumption...
slider enabled and nothing unusual, no double posts or nothing.

yep, everything works smoothly what comes to the basic checker.
what comes to misc() - once again, after some time running, it does not draw anymore.
I can see the board trough it [Big Grin]

so, I think I'll do something with it too [Wink]
anyway, if that runs smoothly, will finally get to final.

no props found.
running rc-2 here and at home "final"

found what was wrong with that misc.
it had doevents(1) and sleep 0.02
seems that it hanged that at some point.
it might be even related that the form wasn't dimmed so the events did flush at the end...

by the way:
boardtime = GMT+1 = CET
