Lonkero: Yeah, middle of October = two months of vacation.

The question now: Where can I sign up for two month of vacation in a row. People over here already get a heart attack if they go on vacation for a week [Wink]

Dear members,

Just yesterday we are returning from our vacation. We only extend it with
two weeks. The wether at the Cote d'Azur was and is good. Most people
think that the wether will be very bad at the end of October for a living
in a tent, but the temperature is still very pleasant in that part of
France. Also very pleasant after our trips through the French Alps.
We see a lot of nice things:
- Col du Galibier is the first mountain pass with traffic lights
- Col d'Iseran is the first mountain pass with a restricted period
for motor traffic. The cyclist has exclusive rights at the moment.
- col de Larche is declared out of bounds for cyclist and walker.
- col de Parpaillon can be a hard road. A great amount of miles are
above 13%. Gravel prevents a fast going downhill.
- sundial doesn't show actual time during the summer. Its value will
not change by starting summer time.
- the wether during this summer period wasn't very good for Europe. Only
after 9 September we doesn't see any rain anymore.
We do a lot of cycling to enjoy it. Nearly 4.500 kilometres and 67 cols.
22 Cols are above 2.000 kilometres. 1.350 Kilometres are going upwards
with mean percentage of 7%-13%.

We see already that you are very active on the board. New topics above
1600. Replies above nearly 14.000 in ten weeks only. Also we see some
changes to the forums. For us enough stuff to read.

First we will update our statistical pages which will show indeed a new
TOP3 list. We have update the FAQ and UDF pages already.

So soon you will see our reactions on the board.
greetings.

Welcome back!

You left some big shoes to fill. Tried my best but nobody can do it like you can.

Think I'll sit back a while and let you catch up.

Thanks.

St.Tropez is a good place for a party. Also St.Tropez is a very good place for the
cyclist. It is the only part of French south coast which doesn't become one big city
instead of the other cities at the coast. Within a radius of 30 km you see only the
Mediterranean Sea and expansive forest with excellent roads for cyclistes.

For an impression of Meditereanean coast we add some links:
St.Tropez panorama
St.Tropez photos
Other links of our trips in the mountains
Col du Parpaillon
Pic du Canigou

greetings.
