KIXKicks had a great idea in the shout box Top your mjusak-favorites that (prolly) loops while you do your hard scripting! Beginners first! : Dark Tranquillity (Icipher, Terminus etc, etc.) Fair to Midland ( Dance of the Manatee, Kyla cries Colonge etc, etc.) Ill Niño (uff, most of it ) -- that's what's pounding away right now this gives away what more comes out - My last.fm userpage , only thing is that I don't have the client running at work :). Give it away now! |

To stay on topic. Gargoyle already mentioned a Dutch band so what the heck here's an other one that works well while coding kix. It's Racoon. Some young Dutch guys making cool music. Dunno exactly what to compare it with but it sound great imho. |

My taste in music is a bit on the guitarish side so this fits. Type O Negative Nightwish Ozzy Osbourne Some times even NailBomb Sepultura Obituary But also Phil Collins Eric Clapton The Sheer Van Velzen Van Halen And lots, lots more. These middle three I only listen to when I'm kinda really annoyed and pissed off and need to blow of some steam. Hey it's better then going out and beating up the first person you see. Sure it also works but what if the first person you see is a 7 feet tall and 200 kilo bench pressing dude Hmmmmmm….. I'm not that small and weak myself but I think I'll stick to the music. |

Most of those bands I recognize :). Oh - since Co hasn't found his way here yet, I'll add that he seems to be listening to Rammstein |

When I was younger, I always wanted to be like Robert Palmer. Man that guy looked slick. And those palmer chicks sheesh. Yeah baby. |

Ah yes. Love ZZ Top. Even have an avatar of them ... <--- check it out Btw - who liked AC/DC ? Best damn rock band on the planet. Them and the Stones were up here for concert a few years back. AC/DC stole the show hands down. |

They just finished playing on my MP3 device - Hells Bells in fact (now to go rewind it) |

I listen to all of them randomly... Well I was going to post my library but the file is too large. So: Hoby's music I still have some 200 LP's that are not in my CD library yet. Maybe they won't be |

Hoby, we have exactly the same taste in music. Damn fine. |

The only thing missing was some Frank Zappa Quote: When I was younger, I always wanted to be like Robert Palmer |

Mostly I listen to Metallica (S&M), when I do the hardcore scripting it's mostly "Battery" on repeat Guns N' Roses is an altime favorite (Yeah I'm a GNR nut, got over 200 live concerts). Tool, Filter, Testament, The Doors, Steppenwolf, The Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Beatles (the r00t of everything), Jimi of course for some relaxed coding, and many others |

SKYNRD Hendix Evanescence Louis Prima Louis Armstrong Allman Brothers Deep Purple Ozzy Led Zep Sting Zappa Thingfish Weird Al White and Nerdy NickleBack Monroe Street Band (My nephew's garage band) As you can see I am all over the board and old. |

Doc, nice. Hey ! I see mustard girl in that list you basta. |
Yeah, I like Mustard girl. Fantastic voice as I've said before. Didn't care for her performance in Vegas, but (IMHO) she has one of if not the best voice in music (disregarding the actual lyrics or music which many may not like). |
Yeah, I agree about her voice being the best - prolly the best in music ever. She's a bit too - ummmm - whats the word - holier than thou or the "air" she puts on that drive me nuts. Her and hubby "Renee" are just so perfect (unless you count Renee's sexual assault charge a while back) lol ... |

I got Heart with Dreamboat Annie coming out the speakers right now. But I'm not coding so I guess it doesn't count. I'm only lurking on korg after a day off yesterday and a massive hangover during the Formula 1 qualification (F1 GP of Turkey tomorrow yeeeehaaaaa) on TV a few hours ago. Couldn't stand the noise of these d#mn racing cars just yet and took the car out to do some shopping with Gary Moore in the CD player. That relaxed my brain a bit and the headache is almost gone |
Killswitch Engage is rolling right now - I do recommend checking Roadrunner United out - they do have much fun stuff |
Sorry just can't get into music where there are supposed to by lyrics but you can't even come close to understanding what comes out of their mouth. The actual music I can appreciate, but the voice screaming has got to go. |
You acctually listen to their voices? =) |
A bit late but what the h#ll. Tonight REO Speedwagon is the sh#t. Did some cool stuff tonight when REO was playing. |
Even more late! Soilworks latest album is now pumping (behind me) while I try to figure out the 3rd lesson ;p |

If this thread is rewarmed anyway... I heard The Police whenever I was undisturbed during the private round of that holy grail kixgolf game Whenever I am not in the middle of a scripting challenge anything of Dream Theater is my favorite. |
I see... the police works wonders then since your brain started working without any weird side-effects |

Have been listening to TSO/Savatage this week to kind of stay in the Christmas mood - especially after seeing them in concert last weekend. They had a special guest performer at the concert - someone my younger colleague (who was at the afternoon concert) called "some old guy - I dunno - but he brought the house down when he came on stage." Anyone remember a little band called The Who? I think that they had a hit song or two... Roger Daltrey ring any bells? Or am I really getting that old? Glenn |
I saw TSO a few weeks ago, no specials geusts like your's, but that violinist - WOW |
Glenn, You mean these guy's? http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=g0IwpRzWL_4 Cool stuff |
Really? Maybe 'cause we're in the NY Metro area, where most of the band members grew up, but I can remember special guests at at least 4 of the past 5 Christmas concerts, including Joan Jett and Greg Lake before Roger Daltrey this year. All are rock legends in their own right. Glenn |
Hmmm ... I saw Savatage back in '93 live in the Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg ... I have the feeling though that they were in another kind of music back then ? edit: Oh, and yeah, I know Roger Daltrey and The Who ... |
I am in Phoenix AZ, where we have a few legends of our own, but nope no special geust stars for us. Although I did have dinner that night at Alice Coopers "Cooperstown". |

But did you have one of the original QUAD Stereo's for their Quadrophenia album? |
LOL - Yeah, the first time I saw a "joystick" - you could move the sound between the 4 speakers by moving the little joystick - no more of that "old fashioned" L/R Balance control! It was my parent's stereo, though.. 8-track tapes. There was a special setting to play Quad 8-tracks or standard 8-tracks, and it was fun to play standard carts in the Quad setting - you'd hear different music from the front speakers than the rear speakers! Glenn |
Yeah I bought one a few years later while in the Service in Germany. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadrophenia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadraphonic |
You two really know how to make one feel old... I too remember the "joystick" and listening to Kiss with Quadraphonic headphones. |
I totally missed that *_* |
LOL - Yeah you did by about 20 years there Bjorn but that's cool. We'll be in an old folks home while you're still scripting |
Speak for yourself, Ron! I'll prolly be scripting something to determine the winner of the Walker Races! G- |
A walker contest? Something like WalkerGolf? Do a 1/4 mile drag strip with the least amount of pushes Hmmmmmm…… dunno how old Jens is but he might slap something together for this when the time comes. I guess I'm somewhere in between Bjorn and you guys. Not an old fart yet but also not a greenhorn. I did not see any of the joystick four speaker stuff you are talking about but I would like to plat with it. Ok, I'm leaving now. Picking up my brother and his GF and then going to see my dad, grandma, sister, uncle, aunt and who else is there. Maybe play some nice tunes in the car. Satriani, Garry Moore? Or just Type O negative although it's not really a fitting tune for Christmas. Hmmmmm….. choices, choices, choices. |

=o) Feels great to be the young and stupid around here :). Did most of the learning-series stuff with the birthday massacre - red stars in the background. A shame I forgot the lines I did then there... So, another year could pass before I get a hold of it ;p |
