in doc, the addprogramitem part does not say that the iconfile path may not have spaces in it.
meaning, if you have iconfile in "c:\program files" the shortcut gets created as if the icon file was: "c:\program"

Wrapping it in quotes doesn't help? Then I 'd rather consider it a bug than a matter of incorrect documentation. However, I've never used ADDPROGRAMITEM.

well, it can be the underlying api or whatever call ruud uses on it...
how I figure that out is that the link is not, after creation, anymore in normal notation but it's translated to 8.3
|
