Re: MCA on vacation now?

Dear members,

We just return from our vacation.

First we will show our sympathy with all the persons who had a confrontation
of any kind with the catastrophe in New York and Washington.

The most important reactions by mail had be handle. We had already updated
a missing link in our homepage and add a lot of new kixtart related sites
to our page Links to Favorite Sites. Some sites were very interesting.

Currently we will handle first our mail and read the topics of the last period.
Also we had prepare a draft version of our kixstrip tool. We saw that
printing all topics about kixstrip will cost you about 250 pages.
Shawn's request about parameter-check of kixtart function was already something
on the to-do list. We have extend the to-do list with all kind of other things:

  • handle split statements over two or more lines in a correct way.
  • color indicator by option "/Progress".
  • overcome possible problems with RedirectOutput by option "/Debug".
as user it will not be necessary to modify all lines with a RedirectOutputfunction call.
  • a possibility to handle internal macros and variables in a string.
  • translate variable names to mnemonic codes for more security
    f.e. $program_version will be $x329.
(it can be possible that this topic will be included in the other
    tool kixref).
  • an include facility of other kixtart code.
    ";(include your_script.kix)"
    will be
    ";(include your_script.kix)"
    ";(begin)
" ;compressed kixtart code from file 'your_script.kix'"
    ";(end)
  • translate also kixtart functions to an identical format.
  • all kind of minor changes

For all the possible questions about: how was your vacation?
Some info:

  • a lot of sun and beautiful pictures. Pictures which can have the french name
    'carte postale'.
  • we had meet a lot of new and old friends.
  • great bike ride in the mountains of French Pyrenean. Some interesting trips are
'col du Tourmalet'and 'Pic du Canigou'.
After completion it was only about 3000 miles with 90 mountain passes.
  • also we had read some interesting books.

Soon our reactions to topics will be given.
Greetings and thanks.

BTW: after checking our mail we detect that all mail after 11 september 2001 was gone.
too much mail was created by a virus on that day.
please remail your mail or request after that day.
please remail your mail/request

Re: MCA on vacation now?

Dear Lonkero,

It isn't necessary to use a computer to remember our vacation. See one of our earlier reactions
in this topic about "what TO-DO".
Of course it doesn't mean we will not go on vacation. Again it will be for about ten weeks
at the end of this month.
greetings.

Re: MCA on vacation now?

Dear,

Our country doesn't have so much holidays. Normally people has max 8 special days per year
and 24 holidays from work per year.
Other countries in the European Union has more special and holidays from work. Also for children
their vacation is also longer. In our opinion a good idea "who want to go to school with 30 degrees Celsius or more".

As your own boss you can take as much as you like.
So don't come to Europe.
greetings.

Re: MCA on vacation now?

well, I have a boss. and he has too...

but anyway, as they said to me:
"don't care about the hours you work if you get your job done."
so what is my job?
as my boss said:
"keep things running!"
what that means then?
it means what ever I make it to mean.
if something goes wrong I can in 99% of situations take vpn connection to office and with 15 - 30 minutes it's all done.

so, don't come europe.
as my boss could see that with the sane money he could get more [Big Grin]

Re: MCA on vacation now?

Dear Lonkero,

Simple five minutes a day to do something doesn't cost much time, but you doesn't have any vacation.
Vacation in our opinion is:

nothing is necessary to do and you can change the day the way you like.

The wether influence your vacation in an unexpected way when your vacation is short. Long
period doesn't have big influence on it. You know sometimes there is rain, or snow.
greetings.

greetings.

Re: MCA on vacation now?

So guys,

We are going again on vacation. During the coming period we don't have the possibility
- to update our site
- to update summary pages based on FAQ and UDFs list. those pages contains a direct URL link
to related forums.
- to update statistical pages. after returning we think there can be a new TOP3 list.
- to reply to your mails or other questions on the board.
Guys, don't work too hard. Good luck and we will see you back in the middle of October.
greetings.

Lonkero: Yeah, middle of October = two months of vacation.

The question now: Where can I sign up for two month of vacation in a row. People over here already get a heart attack if they go on vacation for a week [Wink]

Re: MCA on vacation now?

Dear members,

Just yesterday we are returning from our vacation. We only extend it with
two weeks. The wether at the Cote d'Azur was and is good. Most people
think that the wether will be very bad at the end of October for a living
in a tent, but the temperature is still very pleasant in that part of
France. Also very pleasant after our trips through the French Alps.
We see a lot of nice things:
- Col du Galibier is the first mountain pass with traffic lights
- Col d'Iseran is the first mountain pass with a restricted period
for motor traffic. The cyclist has exclusive rights at the moment.
- col de Larche is declared out of bounds for cyclist and walker.
- col de Parpaillon can be a hard road. A great amount of miles are
above 13%. Gravel prevents a fast going downhill.
- sundial doesn't show actual time during the summer. Its value will
not change by starting summer time.
- the wether during this summer period wasn't very good for Europe. Only
after 9 September we doesn't see any rain anymore.
We do a lot of cycling to enjoy it. Nearly 4.500 kilometres and 67 cols.
22 Cols are above 2.000 kilometres. 1.350 Kilometres are going upwards
with mean percentage of 7%-13%.

We see already that you are very active on the board. New topics above
1600. Replies above nearly 14.000 in ten weeks only. Also we see some
changes to the forums. For us enough stuff to read.

First we will update our statistical pages which will show indeed a new
TOP3 list. We have update the FAQ and UDF pages already.

So soon you will see our reactions on the board.
greetings.

Re: MCA on vacation now?

Thanks.

St.Tropez is a good place for a party. Also St.Tropez is a very good place for the
cyclist. It is the only part of French south coast which doesn't become one big city
instead of the other cities at the coast. Within a radius of 30 km you see only the
Mediterranean Sea and expansive forest with excellent roads for cyclistes.

For an impression of Meditereanean coast we add some links:
St.Tropez panorama
St.Tropez photos
Other links of our trips in the mountains
Col du Parpaillon
Pic du Canigou

greetings.
