Folks...

Got a hot problem over here right now. We're in the midst of trying to debug a potential KIX script error. I'm getting reports from one of our remote locations that they are seeing the following message in their logon script...

ERROR (C1) PORT "$PORT" IS NOT KNOWN, ERR=0x704

Does anybody recognise this as some kind of internal KIX message ? I always thought KIX threw messages to the eventlog.

I am NOT defining $PORT as script variable !

The only change we made last night was to perform a stright UNC copy of a file from a hidden share on one of our central servers to all of our workstations. The workstations are connected over LAN/WAN. The problem occured on one of our WAN sites. The only other thing I can say is that all-in-all, we had about 5000 workstations hit this single share in a short period of time.

Sorry I can't provide more info. We're running pure WinNt 4.0 server/workstation. Kix Version 3.53 ( I know, I know... We got 10,000 workstations here and I haven't wanted to rock the boat with 3.61 yet.)

I will provide more info when I can...

Help!

Shawn.
