Dear,
Again a nice discussion. Always someone is breaking the guideline rules. We agree that special rules for the UDF forum were defined. Possible discus- sions like "UDF doesn't work" and "how should I call it" should be done on another forum. Simply an URL link is enough.
Also in the past members doesn't like a fixed format like scriptlogic for entering an UDF. The benefits of Scriptlogic UDF library are - it has been a fixed format. - you can see which UDF is popular. - some UDFs on this site has been implemented as an internal function. The disadvantages of Scriptlogic UDF library are - no real discussion is possible. Some members has problems with Scriptlogic UDF library, because it is a part of a commercial site. bstyles (= member of Scriptlogic) descri- bes it as something for the kixtart community without any commercial inten- tion.
Another idea is not to show always signature. In some situations a signature doesn't add additional information to reaction. - in an earlier reply you show already your signature. - some discussions on general forum has not really to do something with kix, but mostly "how can we finish this slow weekend".
Don't misunderstand me: we love to read all kix and none-kix related posts on this board.
greetings.

As Jooel points out, ScriptLogic are aware of the inability to post zero parameter UDF's.
The post discussed in the following URL describes ScriptLogic's intention to fix it. Admittedly, it was some time ago.

For what it's worth, I think ScriptLogic's UDF Library is absolutely superb.
As some of you have already said, the ability to easily view the most popular UDF's is brilliant. ...Personally, I really like the idea that their UDF's explicitly ask you for certain criteria. In addition to keeping the UDF Library neat and tidy, it also enforces 'submitters' to think about the UDF's they are adding.
The only things that I find disappointing on SL's UDF Lib are things that are fixable and on their to-do list. (ie. zero parameter functions and the inability to remove added parameters...etc...) ...but once that is fixed they will have an unbeatable UDF Library.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to put this site down in "any" way. I find other aspects of this site better than ScriptLogic's, most noticably the response time for this BB is mind blowing - better than any other BB I know. In addition, the vast number of UDF functions contained within this site's library is certainly impressive.
...just my £0.02.
