Buddies,

I'm playing with Red Hat 8.0 now...Total newby here... Writing KiX is simple. Just wondering if there are some tricks to run / test KiX under Linux...

Would be nice to run the checker under Linux... [Wink]

for checker you need lindows or similar emulator.

that brings you real windows inside the linux.

Well, it's a great project to learn *nix scripting!

Use wget to grab the pages then parse using the language of your choice - awk, C, php, or just shell built-ins. Generate an html page and pop-up a browser and you are done.

If you're feeling very brave you could do the whole thing in perl, however it's not known as the "pathalogically eclectic rubbish lister" for nothing [Wink]

mm... perl...

I would hit tcl instead.
it's simpler has same freedom as kix... in some way.
and thus tk can be thought of as kixforms

Jooel,

Which UDF... I've been away for several days... [Wink]

Howard,

the things you say make sense, but are way too complex for me now... First learn to use Linux then play with it...

KiX does remind me of tcl somewhat. Been playing with that while hacking the heck out of my TiVos [Smile]

Lonk,

What about Samba or DOSEmu? Either of those work? Maybe WINE?

Dear Richard,

We advice you to rename your name Rich _Not Howard_ Howarth back, when
you will see the right facts about your kixtart contributions.

Using all kind of fancy names makes it very hard to get right values.
Currently Rich _Not Howard_ Howarth and rhowarth aren't the same
member.
Greetings.

wine and lindows most likely work.
dosemu should work for kixtart but never ever for kixforms.
it needs at least win9x...

mm, I think this is already second place where mca is commenting on the nick...

But...

I ran into an issue with a password change executable and running NTFSPRO and it could not run in DOS Mode.

Don't think that would effect Kix though.

Hmm..
