Yes, I have an admin that likes to turn on advanced debugging, only to fill the C: drive with tracelogs until the server pukes. [Frown]

hehee [Razz]

there is 2 solutions to this:
1)fix your server configuration to handle this situations:
  • don't let windows handle the size of cache
  • make a own partition for cache where only
system has write permission (add deny to his account)
2) reduce his rights. make a policy or something

...and it was an NT4 server with 4gig part on C: and 14gig part on D:
Why the trace logs would not be directed to D: one may never know.

You can look for USER.DMP in the %windir% folder and delete it. This file is created by default when NT crashes.

Depends... In Windows 2000 there are 2 places that attempt to enable this. If you only turn off once, it may still be enabled.

Sometimes it will result in a unmotivated 0a stop error [Smile]
