Hey Ron, thanks for the PM. I just got back from a trip to the northeast and received it.
Yes you have permission, just include a link to the site and author info.
That said, perhaps we could help so that you don't have to type as much...?
Remember, that the UDF library @ scriptlogic.com is a database. When UDFs are viewed, you're actually looking at a page in HTML that was generated by ASP/VBscript from the information in the DB.
It would therefore be relatively easy for us to write a short program (could be an ASP page) that would 'compile' the UDFs, in the html layout you request, and mail them to you as htm pages. Basically we have this engine already, but your layout would be different. You'd probably have to still define them initially in the HTML help's TOC and file list, but it would make updates a breeze.
To make it even better, we are converting the site to ASP.NET and the UDF library will be upgraded to include full syntax highlighting (just like your favorite editor), when viewing the UDF source code.
Hope you think it is as cool as we do
BTW: phase II will be to add syntax highlighting to script code posted within forums also.
--------------
Back to the htlp: If we coordinate the effort (which shouldn't take too much work) and enough people like the idea, we could even a link into the KiXtart HTML help (that we maintain) to the UDF library CHM file.
Cheers, -Brian
PS. Mailing me direct is easy, our company uses a first.last @ scriptlogic.com format, and the last name is Styles.
