I assume because you make reference to KXRPC, your clients are Win9x. Have you set the KXRPC env. variable (i.e. SET KXRPC=\\PDC_NAME)? If you're running the NetWare client as well, you'll have to modify the provider order. I got grey hair troubleshooting the provider order.
