Not really Shawn

Its those damn P plates

For those of you that know nothing about Australian car licencing, i shall enlighten you. It varies from state to state, but this is how it is where i live (Victoria)

Learners Permit 'L Plates'
You can get this at age 16, you only need to pass a theory exam. You are only allowed to drive when occupied by a fully licenced driver in the passenger seat, and maintaing a 0 blood alchohol content (not a big deal since legal drinking age is 18) and you must display L plates at the front and rear of the vehicle
there about 4 inches square, yellow with a big black L

Probationary Licence 'P Plates'
You can get this at age 18, you must have held a learner permit for at least 6 months, you need to pass a theory exam and a driving test. You must maintain a blood alchohol of 0, and the penalties for speeding ect are harsher. You must display P plates at the front and rear of the vehicle, same as L plates, but red with a white P.

Full Licence
You get this automaticly after 3 years on your P plates. BAC of .05

the short answer is i cant drive anywhere after drinking untill 22/08/03

No hot tea. Ice Tea, Coffee, Wine Coolers okay....and UltraEdit (Cause Shawn never finished his little editor - I think it died by the wayside somewhere) [Frown]

Schnaps ain't too bad either, is it Jochen? [Razz]

I was trying to save my Single Malt a little while longer, but now that it was mentioned I might as well open it tonight.

It all depends on how much you drink, over what time frame

heh, the short answer is, I can't drive anywhere.

what comes to that timeframe, it does not have so much meaning
if you drink a bottle of beer once per hour, you can't drive.

but if you take 24 beers at the morning, you can drive at the late evening...

or something like that...
well, at late night?
next morning before the next 24?

I still have to stick with TextPad.

Cause you have to love this stuff.

I don't drink coffee or tea. [Frown] I stick with the caffeine free pop/cola/soda (you say tomato I say tomato). Yeah I know a computer geek that doesn't drink caffeine?! [Eek!] It gives me migraine headaches. [Embarrassed]

Just give me my EditPad Pro. [Smile]

 -

Here is where a good editor really shines.. Custom Templates - -

As I remember - UltraEdit, TextPad and others share this same type of functionality.

One of the biggest gripes I have had personally when searching for an editor is the ability to replace while searching with Carriage Returns or line feeds. You would be surprised how many editors out there that do not have this ability. One of the other things that I have become increasingly reliant on is the ability to "Block" text, in other words not select the whole line, but part of it.
