yep, been dreaming of compiled kixscript [Embarrassed]
offcourse, it could be then named kixtart-programming language [Wink]

anyway, kix compined with kixforms competes pretty well with vb...

offcourse, if we want speed, we should always go to little lower level and use something like assembler (should learn that someday, missed all the courses on the school. too lazy...)

and as time goes on, might need to build a script translator for linux too.
that should be speedy even though it would be just C-script...

According to Ruud/Brian, this will come soon in the next KiXtart release. [Big Grin]

That is all conjecture. The only thing mentioned so far is 'tokenizing'. Generally speaking, tokenizing is the process of replacing the ascii representations, fully spelled out commands, functions, macros, etc. with two byte values. It is not compiled to machine code or even CLR but merely an abbreviation of the existing ascii. As such, it can still be reverse engineered.

There has been no detail provided by Ruud to this board on this topic.

{edit} Ruud has commented on the topic of 'Tokenizing' in this thread

Yes, that was what I was thinking of. However, Ruud also mentioned that this will result in a speed increase.

Interesting idea. One has to wonder, though if you would run into an I/O bottleneck on the target registry (PC)? Since the registry is a database (file), I doubt you'd crash the PC just by doing I/O operations to it unless you really overloaded it. Likely, you'd just create a bottleneck of I/O operations waiting to be performed.

Hmmm. The more I think about it, the more I think you could crash your PC with unrelenting I/O requests. However, I don't think it would necessarily corrupt the registry.

Dear,

Lonkero, it will be long story before kix32 becomes a compiler. It is in our
opinion not necessary to need assembler stuff for speed. More important is when
unnecessary elements will be ignored. F.e. by processing data it isn't really inte-
resting that your program verifies possible mouse movements.
Simple buying a faster computer resolves for most of the computer guys their hunger
for power. Only some of them will invest an enormous amount of time to reduce
time with 1 seconds.

Les. tokenizing part makes you scriptmuch harder to read. Of course re-
verse engineering is possible, but for the general user it becomes much harder to
do it.
It isn't a big problem for reserve engineering binaries, but what are the benefits
to do it.

Jens, indeed we are testing what the impact of this need possibility is.
greetings.
