How can I launch KIX from the scheduler? I tried running a bat file that runs the script but it does not run.. EVENT viewer :

The description for Event ID ( 1312 ) in Source ( KIXTART ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: WkstaUserGetInfo failed Error : A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated. (0x520/1312).

HELP!

hi chilton - no worries - read this and follow the links...

Sorry about the bad link there - what the hell is comptrends doing to their website ? yikes !!! I hope this wasn't meant to be an improvement ?

Anyway - if you could of followed the link - it explained that this is a well know issue - that Ruud is now aware of it - he might fix it - but in the short-term the eventlog message is just an annoyance.

Shawn.

Forgot to mention - you can get rid of this error message by configuring the scheduler service to run under (log on as) a local workstation or domain account...

Shawn - Ack!!

Steve and company have removed the Interview..

Chilton.. Be Sure that you run your KIX Script from a Domain Admin Account (at least it helps). You may also need to preface your command with a %COMSPEC% C:\path\kix32.exe c:\path\kixscipt.kix

Under NT or 9x, it will put a path to the CMD.EXE or command.com with a /C automatically..

Be sure you are doing this with 3.63..

Be sure that you have your scripting engines up to date. That is VB4, VB6, and at least SCR55ENG.EXE from Microsoft. When I set this up on a monitoring workstation with one of Shawn's scripts it was quite a pain, but worth it.

HTH,

- Kent
