We must prevent a situation that a significant (new) problem exist it this latest build. Our scripts are working great with it. Tomorrow we will implement it our production environments, when no new problems will come up. greetings. Some good questions are: who guarantees related kixtart tools like f.e. KixGui, kixref & kixstrip? how can I reduce dependencies of such tools? what is done or not done? what are the most common used tools? Our opinion: of course the creators of those tools. also it will be nice to know what the support level is. of course you must know most of those freeware tools voluntary. of course some third party software isn't any problem at all, because they simply generate output which is processing by your script. use f.e. a variable to execute or bypass code which has relations which such tools. done using tools with an acceptable support level. not done using tools which requires great effort by creator, for your script and impact for your environment when it isn't working anymore. an alternative can be: running different kind of kixtart releases. it will be nice when a poll will created about - what are the know kixtart tools - what is the user group - who is the creator - what is the support level (suggest to determine it after a poll) - can "tool" be modified by you A short list of tools, add-on, etc.: - kixcrypt/wkixcrypt - kixref - kixstrip - kix???update/kix???registry - kixlib32 - kixforms - kixwinvb - kixgui - kixhelp.chm (from Scriptlogic or other site) - kix_starters - BBCodeParser - jmail - w32time Are we missing something for the list? Ruud van Velsen Ruud van Velsen Developer Registered: 1999-05-06 Posts: 391 Loc: Amsterdam, The Netherlands	Hi everyone, just wanted to confirm that the 'error' returned by the original script is expected behaviour. Whenever you do not assign the return value of a function call or COM-method to a variable, KiXtart tries to evaluate an expression of type string in order to display it on the console. In this particular case, because the expression consists of an IDispatch pointer, KiXtart throws an error because there is no way to convert the pointer to a string (and the pointer apparently has no default property...). Hope this clarifies/confirms things. Let me know if you think there is anything else in this thread that indicates some kind of problem in 4.10. Kind regards, Ruud
