I spent last night trying to access two objects:
Microsoft voice text
and
Voice text

these are registered "services" as codable trought VB scripting.
couldn't create object for VtxtAuto.VtxtAuto and trough MSDN found other way:
Speech.VoiceText

it created it nicely but anything else failed due to unknown something.

this got really frustrated and thinking, if this can't be accessed trough kix-ole I'll make my own dll to handle this.

Have any of you insight to this?

btw shawn, are you sure you sent me the build 13?
scroll on the textbox did not work at all...

cheers,

wild guess on the search on the MSDN library on web gives assumption that automation isn't supported with normal speech engines shipped with OS:
quote:
The Microsoft® Speech SDK 5.1 adds Automation support to the features of the previous version of the Speech SDK. You can now use the Win32 Speech API (SAPI) to develop speech applications with Microsoft Visual Basic®, ECMAScript and other Automation languages.
This says that I might need to do same thing with this as I did with winHTTP...

right?

Try the dll in this archive:

Kixforms

Plus, make sure you don't already have a kixforms.dll in system32, regedit will always try to register that one before the one in current directory (dumb, I know) !

hehee - im going to check-out these text-to-speech engines ... looks like fun - can I play too ?

Lonkero,
Reach up to the top of the laptop and pull it towards yourself. The display is hinged and when in the down position the display cannot be seen, saving you from having to look at it. [Wink]

shawn, this one worked.
so the beta was just alpha?

anyways, been thinking (yes, I can do that), we could really do kixtart-editor with build-in debug styled as those great c++ code-builders/compilers.

then add a button for create exe and voila, we have something to be broud of...

as a debugger engine could be used mca's kixstrip so there is no need to re-invent the bike.

am I totally lost here?

btw, the file menu is something fantastic which reduces the buttons on the form and as such, the form size.
nice nice...

well, no I got to get back to my samba-server which has problems with KDE.

see ya (hmm... more like see from ya),
