Hi there! I am trying to resize the quick launch bar through scripting. Not as easy as it sounds... I have snapped the registry and the file system using several tools, but I am unable to accomplish this.

What I have found that I can do is merge the snapped keys of the new settings, kill the primary explorer shell process, wait 10 seconds for the NTUSER.DAT.LOG transaction log to merge and restart the explorer shell. This works and manages to resize the bar, but I get the "active desktop crashed" html desktop background. When I click "Restore active desktop" the settings are maintained.

I thought that I may be able to bypass all of that by another means, possibly something like

$ex = createobject(explorer.shell)
$ex.visible=0

However I am not familiar with the syntax or if it's even possible?
