The curly quotes and should be banned from all documentation. Do yourself a favor and open your DOC manual in MS Word. Under Tools | AutoCorrect... | AutoFormat, disable "Straight quotes" with smart quotes and do the same under AutoFormat As You Type as well.
Then under Edit | Replace...
Find what:
Replace with: "
and click Replace All. Do likewise with and save the document.
Why? If curly (smart) quotes find their way into the code, it will fail. SOme people may copy/paste examples with curly quotes from the manual. Ruud has promised to stop using curlies since 4.22 and has almost totally eliminated them.
