I guess I don't understand why we can't have both PDF and Word DOC version of the manual. Most of us have Broadband or T-1 connections anyway and the few extra KB won't hurt. Then the users can print it using Acrobat or Word...
I would also recommend that the kixfile.exe extract like the following:
\necessary files (kix32.exe, etc...)
\Manual
\Manual\KIX2001.DOC
\Manual\KIX2001.PDF
