having problems with the del command in kix 4.20

have c:\folder1 and subfolder c:\folder1\1 and subfolder c:\folder1\2

want to delete them all:
DEL "c:\folder1\*.*" /h /s

nothing happens
what's wrong?

ok, found a working way.

you need to change current directory to what folder you need to operate.

it works only on file, not directory.

so, if you specify:
code:
del "*.*" /S

without correcting the working dir (like I did) you can end up loosing your system.
gladly I was just pushing this out the window so don't care.

it actually works, but not as one could expect.

ruud, if this is expected behaviour, could you update the manual to have little more specific info.

I have made some tests with Del. It works fine for me, though it leaves the Folders and only deletes the Files. Just as I expect!

I would be nice if Rd would have the same recursive options. Or a force switch. (/s or /f)

If i don't want to delete the Folder, i will not use RD, so if I do want delete the Folder, I don't care if it's empty or not. Or is that thought to simple?!
