Your comments are understood and appreciated. I guess, as with everything, there are two ways to look at it...One might think that a corporation could someday "yank the rug out" and stop providing such free services...
The other view is that, all considered, a profitable company providing the services would be around even longer than a site without funding since the corporation would have revenue to support the free services...
The nice thing is that, regardless of where the UDFs are published, that they are already in the public domain and will continue to be. Think of it as open source -- the code is already out there
Since ScriptLogic Corp already released the source to the functions (by posting to the website), this can never be taken away. We certainly hope that they are used, regardless of where they end up.
And yes, we certainly hope that by providing free services, such as a Function Library, we will get more sales -- that is the motivation of a corporation. I trust there is no harm in this motivation, given the fact that non-customers will still benefit. (it's an honest statement). With this understanding, why would we ever stop providing the free services?
We have always known that ScriptLogic is not for everyone -- we don't make any claims that it is... However, we do hope to establish the website as a great portal for the KiXtart community -- something that everyone can truly benefit from.
Again, thank you for your opinion, comments, and suggestions. We do care!
