Hello all,

I have a few questions that I can't seem to find any answers on. Hopefully someone can help.

Question 1. Will I be able to use KIX 2001 to query an LDAP server requesting organization name and department name?

Question 2. Will it work in Windows 98, NT4, and 2000?

Why I ask?

I currently map users drives by query the NT domain's user group variable in KIX. Here is the problem: If a user changes departments and does not tell me then the users drive mappings are screwed up until I receive notification. We already have a running LDAP server setup. I would like to perform a LDAP query against the server and map their drives, only if it works of course. Any input is always welcomed!!

Thanks for your time.

Answers:

1) Yes.

2) It will work on Win2K

3) It will work on NT and 9x if you install the ADSI runtimes.

Shawn.

Here's the download link...

Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) 2.5

But I might have have spoke too soon about Win9x (I could have swore I read somewhere thats there's a version for 9x)... might want to investigate further...

Shawn.

Maybe I was right after all... go figure...
