so if I have a herd of Domain controllers across my enerprise running the KixRPC service for 3.63 do I have to replace it with the kixrpc for kix2k?

If so can I replace the .exe only or do I have to totally uninstall/reinstall the service?

Below is a history list of the various releases. Please see KiX2001.doc for full
details on Kixtart commands and functions.

Beta 1

- Ingroup does not yet support universal groups or nested global groups for
Windows 9x clients.

- KXRPC and KX95.DLL are fully compatible with the most recent version that
shipped with KiXtart 95. As such, there is no need to replace these files.

- COM automation is not yet fully enabled in this release. Please see the
samples for details on functionality that is available.

Please report any issues with this release to ruudv@microsoft.com.
Please make sure to include full detail on the problem, the configuration and
the script(s) involved.

I have checked my version og kxrpc.exe (Kix 3.62)
Same version as Kix2001

Version for both is : 3, 60, 0, 0

Indeed, I questioned Ruud on this when I saw that the KX*.DLL files were sitll version 3.63 in pre-beta and then had current dates upon the official release of beta 1.

Ruud informed me he just updated the file dates for consistency.

The KX*.DLL files therefore are still v3.63, and there is not a need to update them to test Beta 1.
