Yea, but if you put it in a UDF you make it easy to find & use by inexperienced persons. It could return various status codes indicating what it did. Like other UDFs it would be an off the shelf tool that users could use at their discretion. My guess it is would get a fair amount of takers, especially with new kix programmers.
In my opinion, making it a UDF doesn't preclude it being tightly coded or it being easy to use.
