Thanks, but [i]installing[/] a program - any program - requires that we complete a 16-page Risk Certification and pass a review.. I've got to work with what's there. The NT boxes are due for upgrade or physical replacement this year, depending on server age. We don't use SMS, but some of the NT systems do respond to some of the WMI functions. Apparently some application was employed that required it at some point, but it wasn't continued. (Possibly something that our Monitoring or Capacity Planning groups test-deployed.)

I'll probably employ the XNET command, as it's been rock solid. I've been unable to identify a failure reason for the Kix ShutDown function so far.

Thanks for the WEALTH of information - I'll definately review it and file it for when we are fully migrated to 2K and can take advantage of WMI.
