Hello All,

I was perusing around Scriptlogic's site and found a great script that set's up XP the way it should be in a corporate environment but I got confused with some of their functions and how to manipulate it to work under Kix alone.

Their TweakXP Code

If you can point me in the right direction on changing this script for Kix alone I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks again guys

So, what's the problem with it?

It does tell you how to run the script in the documentation. Additionally, all ScriptLogic UDFs are marked as such, e.g. slRegWriteValue. Just replace those with the build-in KiXtart functions, e.g. WRITEVALUE.

Alternatively, do the reghack yourself or buy the Scriptlogic product if you don't like changing code.

Ok I searched the board on how to get a certain variable but it came up with incorrect results.

code:
If $DesktopHideMyDocs >=0
$rc=WriteValue($RegKey1,$ClsidMyDocs,$DesktopHideMyDocs,'REG_DWORD')
$rc=WriteValue($RegKey2,$ClsidMyDocs,$DesktopHideMyDocs,'REG_DWORD')
EndIf
If $DesktopHideMyComputer >=0
$rc=WriteValue($RegKey1,$ClsidMyComputer,$DesktopHideMyComputer,'REG_DWORD')
$rc=WriteValue($RegKey2,$ClsidMyComputer,$DesktopHideMyComputer,'REG_DWORD')
EndIf
If $DesktopHideNetHood >=0
$rc=WriteValue($RegKey1,$ClsidNetHood,$DesktopHideNetHood,'REG_DWORD')
$rc=WriteValue($RegKey2,$ClsidNetHood,$DesktopHideNetHood,'REG_DWORD')
EndIf
If $DesktopHideIE >=0
$rc=WriteValue($RegKey1,$ClsidIE,$DesktopHideIE,'REG_DWORD')
$rc=WriteValue($RegKey2,$ClsidIE,$DesktopHideIE,'REG_DWORD')
EndIf

Not sure if I'm explaining this right but I need to find a way to get the $Clsid variable in the above code.

Thanks,

FYI below were the variables I was looking for:

code:
$ClsidMyDocs ="{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}"
$ClsidMyComputer ="{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}"
$ClsidNetHood ="{208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D}"
$ClsidIE ="{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}"

Hope that helps anyone looking at this code!
