During the last 3 years I have developed about 6 KIX scripts for the company where I work. These scripts are executed by about 5000 users to perform many required functions.
I received a request from the domain administrator to convert all these scripts to VBS because they installed active directory on the domain and they can not (or they do not want) KIX script any longer.
Will I have to re-write all these scripts in VBS code again? Please advice. Thank you.

Dear,
It isn't necessary to move your kixtart scripts to wastebasket.
It can still do the old things.
Possible that your organization want to use to use VBScript for new scripts.
Manager shouldn't forget that moving to a new hardware is much easier than
learning a new language. Much easier than migrating your kixtart code
to a new computer language.
Possible that NTDOC can return some information about managers who want
to move to VBScript. In the past his organization handle same struggle.
Possible that you can find back some of such discussions on this board.

I handle many AD related operations in my corporate logon script. What is it that the domain administrator wants accomplish that your script does not currently do?

I do really appreciate kind replies that I received from all of you. I was quite shocked and surprised when I received my management’s decision/request to convert the Kix scripts but I think I will overcome this situation soon.
The only support I got from my management in this regard was that they will give me more than enough time for converting Kix scripts to VBS and lesser priority will be given in this task. On the other hand, any new script will be written in VBS.
I will start with VBS MSDN
Any suggested sites especially VBS discussion board will be highly appreciated.

Personally, I think you need to get your Admin Team on the "same page." That is, a lot virii in the wild today are made of VBScript. Granted, you could do the same with KiX.. But, if they are looking for a richer looking script, why not use KiXForms or IE to do that?

Truly there should be some additional discussion into the logic and business sense regarding the decision.
How could you as the author of the script not be consulted before such a decision is rendered? Or were you?
I would be interested in hearing the reasons for making such a switch. So far AD is not a valid reason.

Bullock and the rest,
I am working as LAN administrator in one of the company branches, and I developed the scripts that I mentioned as support from my side to the company.
All what I could understand so far is that the main office has been advised by the consultant who installed AD on the main domain to use VBS script instead of Kix. Furthermore the login script was already re-coded by VBS.
I am trying to find out the reasons behind this advice but at the same time I do not want to give my management the impression that I can’t accept, learn and use a different tool.
I am planning to find a way allowing me to keep building scripts with Kix and then call them from the main VBS script.

Vb and vbs are crap. For a strange reason Microsoft visual C is very good. Kixtart is the right solution for scripting.
An administrator have so much in mind and it is crazy to expect from him to be a programmer to write shitty Ms vb code.
An admin have to "connect" system and network things with some small, easy to understand and mentainable scripts.
Of cource if you want the perfect you can use Perl with Net:Ldap module ! And even better to use Linux everywhere and with the extra money built some more schools and a better world.
