I am working on a standard image that our company has. It is deployed to about 1500 PC's. I have been asked to put cable connect back into the image for all 1500 pc's. We use Kixtart scripts for updates and changes to our core all the time. However, I go into Control Panel | Add/remove software| Windows Setup and I discover that none of the windows 98 options are showing there. The Jack*** that created our image decided to change a registry key to make them disappear. I know this is more of a registry question than a kix question... but I am desperate. Does anyone know the key that does this????

Hi Dennis... A Win9X expert I'm not - but my guess is that it's not a registry setting you're looking for.. probably an .INF file is what your after... for example, the installed games are listed in games.inf (on WindowsNT anyway)...

Try searching on an un-touched workstation and see if you can find them. My guess is that jackarse deleted the INF's and the install packages after imaging ?

Shawn.

Hello,

i hope, i understood what You want. Look at the Registry HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OptionalComponents. If You delete one key, this key will disappear in the windows setup.
