Wizard Wizard Hey THIS is FUN Registered: 2000-12-05 Posts: 264 Loc: Bristol, England	I have been following this board for quite a while now, adding little bits as I go.! I know that most people here are system admins and as such need to look after your servers. That is why I have created a small application that will do just that. Where I work, we have over 40 servers, and each morning we remote on to the main ones and check that core Windows NT Services are running correctly - As you can imagine this takes a while.!! We currently check 27 servers, and a total of just under 100 services. This would normally take about 2 and a half hours each and every morning. This application takes about 20 seconds.! If you want to try it out, goto my website and click on the link to download it. There is currently no documentation, but it is really easy to use. (Tip: right click the service names). Sealeopard Sealeopard KiX Master Registered: 2001-04-25 Posts: 11165 Loc: Boston, MA, USA	You know that you can do this with something like 20 KiXtart code lines and an approrpiate UDF?! Just create a .INI file with a list of computers to check and a list of services to check. Read in the computer list and then read i the service list. Check each service for each computer and send an administrative alert if the service is stopped. You could use for example SVCStatus() or ActiveService _________________________ There are two types of vessels, submarines and targets.
