Is there anyway I can tell which application window is currently Active

You could use SetFocus if you want a specific window to be active.

I do not want to go to a particular window, but rather find out which is presently active.

You could use the AutoIt ActiveX component (AutoItX). It is available from here: AutoIt Homepage

You would have to register the DLL and then call it from your script. Here's an example...

$oAutoIt = CreateObject("AutoItX.Control")

$CurrentWindow = $oAutoIt.WinGetActiveTitle()

? $CurrentWindow
