Was wondering if there is an LPT emulator (software based) for a USB-Based printer?
Thanks!

cheat..
share the printer map to the printer share as LPT1...
It sounds like it might work. [ 20 June 2002, 19:25: Message edited by: Radimus ]

Unfortunately it is for application that needs an LPT port to print from. Interesting idea though.

I think Radimus has it nailed. If you can share the USB printer, then map the LPT1 port to the share, you might be okay (as long as your printer driver doesn't prevent you from capturing to a 16-bit device name).

I have shared this information with my colleagues. As soon as we get one, we might be able to try this..
Thanks for the suggestions.

I have also sent this information along to the vendor as well. If I hear anything else, I will let you know.

It's work.. because i have a DOS apps, and the dos apps is unable to print to a jet Direct.. And it's working very good.. since i installed the printer on the Windows, and shared It. just map your lptx to the share, and it's working great

Another possibility:
1. Print to a file.
2. User Printfile found here:

Brian
(Yeah. I know you may not be able to print to a file, but it was worth a shot.)
{edit} I found this idea and there are some others from here:
