I'd be willing, as long as I'm "just a backup".. lol.. (If there are 3 or 4 moderators, it doesn't sound too bad.) I've been on here a lot, lately, especially with the KiXgolf (I was on the programming team in college... forgotten more than I remember). At some point, I can't guarantee that I won't get bogged down in a million projects that I can't take time off from to check on the forum regularly (just a disclaimer.) Thanks for considering me, though, Shawn. It's an honor to be thought of so highly. [Smile]

OK Polls over. Please don't post any more results.

NTDOC & sealeopard are the favoured pair. Congradulations guys. I will forward your nmes to Henri but you guys can organize your work any way you see fit. The vote is so close that I personally see you as equals but one could be a backup if that is the way you prefer.

Some final comments

If Brian becomes a co-monitor with Shawn then all the current heavy duty contributers but 1 will be a moderator. The missing heavy weight is Radimus. I suggest replacing Martijn in the UDF forum with Radimus. Since the first week that he volunteered I haven't seen any sign of Martijn on this board.

Maybe we should have a policy that if a moderator disappears from the board for more than 3 months then we should launch a poll to replace the moderator who is MIA.

Finally, I noticed that all the regulars even some we haven't seen for a while got votes. I think the polls show the depth & quality of people who contribute to this board.

this 3 month policy sounds good.
example, haven't seen lon even once I've been here and all time he was moderating?

to have the BB alive, and to have newbies see place with the persons they know of good help being in control over the board, it makes them feel secure... right.

lets not forget beta @ Suggestion...

there isn't much activity there so whoever is there for 1 could do the other... especially since they are similar in nature.

There are a few 'heavyweights' that are very involved in beta testing that might offer/be drafted to serve in that capacity...

perhaps have a posting looking for volunteers and then vote of those...

I really like the three month policy too !

I was just checking out the kixtart bulletin board homepage there - listing all the forums and moderators, etc - and I must say, that looks a whole lot better than it did before. Thanks to everyone involved.

Dear,

We like also the idea of three month policy, but we must account with
long vacations. In the case of MartijnL the board doesn't see anything
since November 15th, 2001.

Congratulations and success to all the other moderators, but it will hard
to beat the quality of FAQ and UDF forums. They are very streamline.
Simple some tips and tricks to members create this nice result.

Thanks again Jack for the idea and the following up.
greetings.

btw: results of poll

I took a copy of the polls just after I announced that they were closed. Unfortunately, the polls stayed open for about 1/2 day afterwards and some body voted. When I setup the polls, I forgot that I was going out of town on Thusday. This is the official result.

I just went to vote and was totally blown away as to my name being in the list. I am like the strong silent type. I enjoy reading the post more that I do posting. Then again there seems to be 5000+ poeple like that also. [Big Grin]
Thanks for the inclusion on the list but I hope that is as far as it goes for me! I am about to join the ranks of the lost and get a supervisor position.

Hi Will,

The selection criteria was that you had to be in MCA's list of top 25 posters. (Obviously you are not that silent) and you had to be an active responder in the last 8 months. You fit both criteria.

You will be missed. Anytime one of our top 25 leaves there is an obvious loss. Good luck in your new position.

Dear,

When you take a close look at the TOP25 list you will find also the people who had a position in it.
Only their current values we aren't using for statistical reasons. Also you should remember
that you only need 44 topics/reactions to belong to the TOP100 list.

Of course it is a pity for people who aren't candidating for moderator position, but in our
opinion Jack looks on the activities of members in the last year which we find very fair.
The board/forums get mostly most help for those members who are already very active on this board.

greetings.
