Just overwrite the target shortcut if the time/date stamp is not identical to the original shortcut. If somebody modifies the shortcut, the time/date stamp gets updated. You can use COMPAREFILETIMES() for this. The additional advantage is that if you ever modify the original shortcut, the update will be distributed automatically.
