if I red the posts correctly, there is two ways, but they are like "soft-hacking"
first one is to use debug switch, which gives it to the window what it does.
other one is that it - as it's seems to be really POOR on security - it creates a temporary file on decryption!!!
and loosing at the same time meaning of it cryption!

well, anyways, you may look for this file and grap it. I don't know so much about it cause I use my own, script version of cryption software.
anyways it's all online here so check and see if you get your needed results:

You cannot use the debug switch on a crypted.exe executable. The debug switch can only be specified when you originally ran KiXcrypt.exe

There are checks in place which will make it hard for you to intercept the unencrypted file, especially if you have used the high security flags.

If you get really stuck then mail me the crypted.exe (you'll need to rename it to crypted.xxx or something or my anti-virus software will drop it) and I'll decrypt it. If you've used the "-p password" option you will need to include that.

On a side note, KiXcrypt does not remove the original script - how did you manage to lose it?

Dear,

Just to make it hard to intercept the unencrypted file makes this program
very usefull for encrypting your kixtart scripts. Simple add a switch/option
would make this tool very useless.
greetings.

I think it would be very secure if Kixcrypt can read the content of the encrypted executable file directly rather than creating temporary file on decryption.

Tan, I guess when you say
quote:

you mean KiXtart rather than KiXcrypt?

KiXcrypt doesnt execute the files, it calls an external interpreter to execute them. While it was created for KiXtart it could just as well be AWK, PERL, DOS BAT interpreter etc. The problem is that KiXtart does not have a method of reading a script other than from a plain text file.

If KiXtart could accept the script as piped input, and then re-open the keyboard as stdin on end of file we'd be half way there.

richard is speaking something now...
allthou we can do KiXscripts (like the ones I posted here) that do the job and work inside the kix process and do not need any temp-files...
they are slow...
that is the reason why, if we want good security, we need to have it internally from kixtart.
I'm not asking from ruud a open source, but what if he would make kix-exe which has crypting capability based on the code ppl has done.
or just add the pipe-capability.

cheers,

True Richard, that's the main issue, KiXtart does not have a method of reading a script other than from a plain text file, I don't know what I was trying to say.
