crap - i thought the combo boxes would have been defined along with the from (like in vb) as nested objects ... this aint good for InputSelect() business

In fact, this is only when using exotic controls. I've tried Word and Excel, and every control is put in this bag, so nothing in the source file

On the other hand Visual Basic (real one) put only real exotic control in frx files, but trying to import a form from VB5 to Excel doesn't work

If you didn't see, Mr Adams updated his post in the UDF forum (you, missing a new post ? nah)
A last thing : InputBox can have a good one with KixwinVB, no ?

good night

Sorry about the confusion guys.

All the steps worked on my computer because I had the .frx file and did not see it.

Below is a link to the other forum where you can download the whole file. And then everything should work as designed.

kixscripts.org

This gives me more incentive to figure a way around this problem, but also throws up a road block or two.

This was just a proof of concept more than anything.

Ideas and comments are always welcome.

Happy scripting guys!

Don

Don,

Ahhhh ... works a charm ... very nice and fast too !

Moving forward, in terms of automating VBA and getting rid of external dependencies, this is the closest we've ever come (to my knowledge) to doing this, and that was automate the installation of vb macros into Microsoft word, and it uses the (argh) old OLE functions which are brutal, but its a start ... check it out ... even if your not familiar with the old functions, it shouldn't be too hard for you to figure out ... specifically, check out the 11th post ...

Loading a macro from one template to another

It's a start ...

Sorry to bother you again with this InputSelect.xls/InputList stuff...but it looks like the InputSelect.xls file mentioned in Mr Adams posts may not be downloaded from the link he gave.

Does anyone of you have this file?
