We have a service account that has a password that expires every 90 days. It is possible to have notification sent when the account is about to expire?

Thanks for any insights.

Kent,
I am not sure what you are getting at - you could inspect the output from a NET USER ? /DOMAIN command and then blat it out to an email address.

Obviously you would have to schedule this daily.

Was that what you had in mind

hmmm... do you have any KiX jobs/scripts running under this service account ? If yes, you could simply just examine the @PWAGE macro in one of these scripts and blat-out a message to the admin ? If not, might want to set one up ?

Shawn,

Thanks! It works great.. If anyone is interested, here is the script:

TESTPASS.KIX

code:

BREAK ON
CLS
$passage = @pwage + "\\domain\userid"
IF $passage < 2
SHELL 'TESTPASS.BAT'
ENDIF

And TESTPASS.BAT is:

code:

postie -host:smtp.domain.com -to:users@domain.com -from:PASSWORDCHECK -s:"UserAccount Password Expiring" -msg:"UserAccount password is expiring"

Thanks again,

- Kent

Hi Kent hows it going?

Just checking but I think you may have it backwards.

If you want the email 2 days before, it should be: > 88

If your using < 2 you will get a lot of email.

At least that's the way it appears to work.
