This trick involves getting a piece of software and works under 9x/ME/NT/W2k..

Go and download this freeware jewel REGX120.EXE.

What does this do?

This offers a history/path dropdown in Regedit without having to extract each section of the tree you are working with in the registry. Within this dropdown, you can quickly copy the path of where you are in the Registry. Sure, ME and W2K "remember" where you were in the Registry, but this works for everybody.
