I have a snap 4100 server and am using kixtart on my NT server logon scripts. I don't see any problems, except if I have two lines of "use driveletter: \\...", i get an error at login. i've posted a question about that and am waiting on an answer.

What problems are you encountering?

Thanks for getting back to me..

I have a model 1000 .. what I am having trouble with is when a user logs onto the PDC the KIX32 spits the dummy and I have worked out that the users profile is on the SNAP. If I log on (my profile is on the PDC) mine works.. so it looks like its a catch 22.. user needs to be authcatied in order to use the SNAP profile. and Im not sure how to go about this.. as the snap is used to store profiles..

so.. SNAP USER = KIX32 spit coz not logged on but to get permissions you need to log on to PDC (I hope this is clear!)

Could you rephrase that? I'm not sure I understood your problem.

We had a problem mapping drives on our snap 1000's. Basically a couple of times out of ten the drive wouldn't map. In the end we had to put in a loop to get the drive to map 100% of the time

I have 2 snap 4100s I do not use them for user profiles but I have not seen any problem with drive mappings to them...I run alot of scripts and batch installs from them. (I have other problems like poor upload speed and one keeps re-booting at random)

maybe its a network problem.
Do you have the snap set up with a static ip?
do you have a wins server set up?
do you use NT authentication? (not sure if this is availble on the 1000 model)

WE use NT Permissions... Im a little confused to how it all works.. but from my understanding a user can't use their own user folder until they log on to the PDC thus stopping the abitly to write to their own user folder on the SNAP (1000 does have NT permissions) I guess I was wondering if anyone has found away round it ?
