First time poster, but have read as many threads as I can find on the subject
"failed to locate kx16.dll! Please make sure kx16.dll is present in %path% or %windir%"I know a lot of you are saying ...Here it is again....but I can't resolve this error, and its pissin me off.
We are standardized on v3.55 of KIX on the netlogon share on all of our DC's. Others are not reporting the problem, so I'm stuck using this version.
To simplify things, I have eliminated the server, and I'm just testing different kix32.exe versions on a Win95 machine:
I have the following in a c:\log directory (version 3.55)
(these files were taken from netlogon share)
05/17/1999 12:22p 135,168 KIX32.EXE
10/22/1999 12:16p 3,505 KICK.KIX
09/19/1998 02:48a 46,592 KX16.DLL
09/19/1998 02:48a 29,184 KX32.DLL
I type in kix32.exe kick.kix, and get the error
“failed to locate kx16.dll! Please make sure kx16.dll is present in %path% or %windir%”
The script runs, but not all variables are listed
I have the following in a c:\log2 directory (version 3.62)
11/24/1999 03:50p 163,840 KIX32.EXE
09/01/1999 02:00p 3,610 KICK.KIX
09/01/1999 02:00p 47,104 KX16.DLL
09/01/1999 02:00p 32,768 KX32.DLL
I type in kix32.exe kick.kix, and do not get the error and the script runs properly
So my conclusion is that v3.55 has some bugs, but other thread posters are saying that they have no problem with v3.55
