Hi all,

Did everyone take enough time off as the Doctor perscribed you ?? No ?? Very good. (For all the dutch fans - Yolt Cola (dat ene rare cola-tje wat de PC nerds altijd dronken in de USA wordt ook in de NL geintro-d)

Ok, back to work.. Most of my users don't even bother to start Outlook to see if they have mail so I thought why not make outlook startup (enforced by policy). Works fine etc. blabla but people are complaining that it takes to long to startup to and you do not want to see those screens at startup.

quote:
Q: How can I make Outlook 97 startup in the systemtray so that no-one can see it.

Thanx,

Gillez

By itself it will not...

But there is this wonderful little freeware product called outlock
http://www.eldblom.dk/path/

excerpt from site:

code:

Description
Outlock is a small application which is loaded as a taskbar icon.
When starting it, it automatically loads Microsoft Outlook into memory. This makes sure at even if you do not have a visible instance of Microsoft Outlook running, you wil still get notifications about new mail and reminders about appointments etc.
Furthermore Outlock gives you, through its popupmenu, a quick way into Microsoft Outlook. In just one click you can send new mails, schedule new appointments or record new contacts.

Outlock 1.2 was tested with the Danish version of Microsoft Outlook 97 and 98 on both Microsoft Windows 98 and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation.

The current version has NOT been tested with Outlook 2000. I have varying reports on Outlock and Outlook 2000, but the compatibility has not been officially tested and I am therefore sorry that I cannot answer question on this area.

Outlock does NOT work with Outlook Express in any version.

I am using it on Outlook 2000 and it works fine...
