Hi everybody,

I had a strange problem unsolved !

I have modified my main kix script that call other small kix scripts. In one of the small script, I call by RUN command IESETUP.EXE.
The exact sintax is
RUN "\\WESTERN\INSTALL$\AUTOINST\IE5\FLAT\WIN32\FR\IE5SETUP.EXE".
It was previously working and not anymore.
Is there any bug known in RUN COMMAND ?

Thanks

Dear,

There is a differences between run and shell command.
Another problem is is the installation of IExplorer 5. We must install is separatly from all the other software. Also we must skip some kixtart code to get a correct installation of it.
Greetings.

when you use 'reserved' characters you need to double them up.

so
RUN "\\WESTERN\INSTALL$\AUTOINST\IE5\FLAT\WIN32\FR\IE5SETUP.EXE".

should read
RUN "\\WESTERN\INSTALL$$\AUTOINST\IE5\FLAT\WIN32\FR\IE5SETUP.EXE".

Thanks all

Radimus, you were right !

The surprising thing is that the command with only one $ was working !!

But with $$ it works all the time !

that is because kix uses $ as a variable.

try this.

$ = "test"
? $

weird!.....
