Does anyone know a way to change the registry when you are booted into the dos prompt?

Whe are using Ghost to install PC's in our company, but every time we have to set some settings manually (Computername!) It would be nice if I could do this from a boot disk.

I thought Ghost had Ghost Walker for changing the computer name and IP address. The only problem I know of is that the new computer name must be the same length as the old computer name. As we use a numeric suffix, it isn't a problem.

Check out Imagecast 3.. it's a lot nicer than Ghost (IMHO) and it's got a free 30 day trial..

www.innovativesoftware.com

it's cool.. (no I don't work for them!) :P

They've got stuff like post-image configuration which does machine names and SIDs etc etc ...
