Hi!

In the Kix32 doc "OPEN reads an entire ASCII file into memory......"

How Large is Large file?

I would like to run the script below and get about 300-500 logins per day.

It simply writes a line of 60 chr per login.

/Regards

SETTIME "DOMAIN"

$sPath="F:\temp\ipchk\"
$sFile="log.txt"
$sDate = @DATE

$sRes = GetFileTime( $sPath + $sFile)

IF INSTR( $sRes, $sDate) <> 1
$sHis= $sPath + "log_" + SUBSTR ($sDate, 3, 2) + SUBSTR ($sDate, 6, 2) + SUBSTR ($sDate, 9, 2) + ".txt"
copy $sPath + $sFile $sHis
del $sPath + $sFile
ENDIF

IF Open( 3 , $sPath + $sFile , 5 ) = 0
$x = WriteLine( 3 , @IPADDRESS0 + ";" + @wksta + ";" + @userid + ";" + $sDate + " " +@TIME + Chr(13) + Chr(10) )
ENDIF
$err = Close (3)

I'm using a very similar login script, with 200 - 300 logons per day with no problems. When you open a file for writing, you really opens it for appending, so (probably) kix doesn't need to read the file.
