Our scripts run on NT 4.0 workstations. We use echo commands to write information to .txt files on a server to log progress. Occasionally an error happens:

A "Lost Delayed-Write Date" error window.

The text: "The system was attempting to transfer file data from buffers to \server\file.txt. The write operation failed and only some of the data may have been written to the file"

any ideas how to avoid this?

You can also use the writeline or redirect output to make log files !!

Hmm. I get that same error intermittently when my EIDE drive decides to go belly up until I cycle the power. It happens intermittently while running the EIDE drive in a mixed SCSI EIDE environment

Thanks for the suggestions! I have had good luck using redirect... No more buffer errors. Writeline seems unreliable when many pcs are writing to the same .txt file at once.
