I Recently installed a new Win2000 server. While Login in the kixtart.kix script is executed but no shares are created (or deleted).

Using the "net use \\servername\share" at the command prompt works fine.

There is no error or whatsoever displayed!!

I tried several kixtart versions.

Anyone any idea?

Put some tracers after you USE statements, like this:

? "Error: @error - @serror"
? "Press any key..." get$

Me confused..

Are you creating a share or are you connecting to one?

After rtracing into this error this is reported:

Error - 1200 The specified device name is invalid

But for sure this is not true (I used copy and paste so failures are impossible!!!)

I think the important thing is that he did not specify a drive to map to -
use f: "\\servername\sharename"

Not true! If you copy/paste from the older manuals with curly quotes.

Post your code! Without it we can only make guesses!

I think we lost the newbie... probably saw the error and too embarrassed to reply. We could just keep posting ideas and suggestions till the cows come home or just drop this thread if JanZ won't cooperate.
