Does anyone know of a way to setup remote admin (through login script) on XP?

Have you had a look at the FAQ section? Maybe How do we deploy an application? - InstallShield and others could help.

Please read ABC's of KiXtart board etiquette and message to new forum users , especially Section F.

Provide more information with regards to what "remote admin" constitutes in your specific case.

It seems pretty clear to me... he want to enable the single user terrminal services known as remote desktop in XP. In the control panel | system | remote tab...

I haven't looked into it but suspect it could be set by GPO.

Or it could be that he want to manage servers remotely from WinXP.

If that were the caase then nothing needs to be done on XP. It has 'Remote Desktop Connection' built right in.

We'll see whether he'll give us some more info. Could be that he needs it for KiXtart v3.63 [Wink]

Just as I thought... can be set by GPO.
Chances are though that he is running SAMBA and not AD. [Frown]

Here is an option -
code:
;Using - http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/1213/
;"Enable Remote Assistance (Windows XP)"
;>>To Enable Remote Assitance
;AllowTSConnections set it to "1"
;fDenyTSConnections set it to "0"
;fAllowToGetHelp set it to "1"
;>>To Disable Remote Assitance
;AllowTSConnections set it to "0"
;fDenyTSConnections set it to "1"
;fAllowToGetHelp set it to "0"
;Restart Windows for the changes to take effect.
$RegKey='HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server'
IF 1<>READVALUE($RegKey,'AllowTSConnections')
$RC=WRITEVALUE($RegKey,'AllowTSConnections',1,'REG_DWORD')
ENDIF
IF 0<>READVALUE($RegKey,'fDenyTSConnections')
$RC=WRITEVALUE($RegKey,'fDenyTSConnections',0,'REG_DWORD')
ENDIF
IF 1<>READVALUE($RegKey,'fAllowToGetHelp')
$RC=WRITEVALUE($RegKey,'fAllowToGetHelp',1,'REG_DWORD')
ENDIF

If you know the list of systems, you could substitute the $RegKey with -
code:
$RegKey='\\'+$computername+'\HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server'

With one of the READEXCEL() UDFs..

And then you could push this remotely.

Or even with COMNetView() for on-the-fly computer enumeration.
