[Moderator (Sealeopard): Moved thread from 'Scripts' to 'Starters' forum due to lack of script in body]

When running a script, it appears the @SCRIPTDIR variable is not resloving. I've tried KIX32.EXE version 4.0.1.0 and WKIX32.EXE version 4.0.1.0. Any ideas??

Mike,

What happens when you do the following?
code:
CLS
BREAK ON
?@SCRIPTDIR
?'press a key to quit'
Get $k

This should print out the directory of where you are executing this from.

HTH,

Kent

Just verified this under 4.01 and works fine as does 4.21.

Can you show us your code? It is supspect that you are probably missing a backslash.

What about Jens' response of version 4.21?

Are you running this under Win9x? If so, you may need to start KXRPC on your DC.

IIRc, there were some problems with @SCRIPTDIR in the inital release. The RPC Server service should not be necessary for @SCRIPTDIR, however it is recommended to always install it when supporting Windows x9.

It's W2k clients and W2k servers. Didn't try 4.21. We are "regulated" on what we can use and they "Standard" we are running is the 4.0.1.0. Any more ideas? Thanks!

Put the KiXtart executables and the test script into its own folder on your local disk and execute from the command line specifiying the exact paths. Test script
code:
CLS
BREAK ON
? 'KiXtart v'+@KIX
? 'Script Dir '+@SCRIPTDIR
?'press a key to quit'
Get $k

4.2 works. So we're screwed unless we go to a new version then? 4.0.1.0 got a bug? Thanks for all the help!

As I already mentioned, I remember that there was a problem with @SCRIPTDIR in one of the really early releases of KiXtart 4.x

I would highly recommend to switch to 4.21 or wait two weeks and go right for 4.22, both of them are very stable and as far as I know do not have any known bugs.
