this is a SPECIFIC NT issue, that has nothing to do with KIX
it has something to do with desktop shortcuts using network drive paths.

What is weird.. I have seen a similar type of issue in the past where the system maps two phantom w: drives.

I concur with Radimus. Shortcuts remember both the logical drive and the original UNC. When you place one of these shortcuts on an NT box (and use the shortcut - can't remember) it then starts to map additional drives.
There was a utility to neuter or make the shortcut "dumb" by using a certain program. After that the drive mappings stop. [ 22. May 2003, 16:10: Message edited by: Howard Bullock ]
