Hello everybody!
Ive had a butchers at google and your own forum, but couldn't seem to find a way to disable the annoying quick launch menu in windows. Can anybody point me in the right direction. Of course you can do this manually per machine but I am lazy and wonder if I can do this automatically.

You say search for 'quick launch' because It has already been discussed but yet I searched in all forums for 'quick launch' and it didnot come up with any results...

I came up with 172 matches for that query. However, reviewing the major threads on this topic I DID NOT find anyone that provided a "scriptable" solution.
I'm sure it is probably controlled here:
Explorer\Streams\Desktop
You would need to use one of the many Registry monitoring tools and modify the settings and locate your required change. It would then probably require you to restart the computer or kill explorer and reload in order for the change to take affect.

Here is a similar task that I took on last year. My guess is that the Quick Launch bar will need to be done in a similar fashion.

Have used REGSHOT (thanks Kyder, incidently a Kyder is someone you cant take seriously in England!!) and it had returned the following, (I cant make head or tail but some values have clearly changed..)
