stevie_velvet stevie_velvet Fresh Scripter Registered: 2002-07-31 Posts: 13	hi when using profgen, & newprof together with the -p default.prf -N -R -L flags i get no error, however the Microsft Exchange server profile has not been setup or configured (no error messages on profgen) i assume i'm missing a step ? ~ here's a example of a default.prf [General] ProfileName=testuser DefaultStore=Service2 [Service List] Service1=Microsoft Exchange Client Service2=Microsoft Exchange Server [Service2] ConversionProhibited=TRUE HomeServer=EXCHANGE MailboxName=testuser ExchangeConfigFlags=4 [Microsoft Exchange Server] < i hav't touched this section) [Microsoft Exchange Server] ServiceName=MSEMS MDBGUID=5494A1C0297F101BA58708002B2A2517 MailboxName=PT_STRING8,0x6607 ; -- The name of the user's Exchange Server Mailbox HomeServer=PT_STRING8,0x6608 ; -- The name of the Microsoft Exchange Server the user should ; connect to. You can specify any Microsoft Exchange Server ; in your site, and the correct Home Server will be assigned ; when the user first logs on. any ideas ? cheers steve

No...when out look is run it starts the outlook wizard looking for a service to install ! ~Windows 2000 ! $returncode = writeprofilestring($locprof,"general","profilename",$username) $returncode = writeprofilestring($locprof,"service2","MailboxName",$username) $returncode = writeprofilestring($locprof,"service2","HomeServer",$exserver) SHELL '%COMSPEC% /C '+$scrdir+'\Profgen.exe '+$scrdir+'\Newprof.exe -p default.prf -N -R -L > nul' i also refer anyone readin this that there is a couple of Microsoft KB articles in regards to the -S swith on newprof & to obtain the latest newprf & profden code stevie

Kdyer Kdyer KiX Supporter Registered: 2001-01-03 Posts: 6241 Loc: Tigard, OR	Steve, If you are building a standard image, you will want to be sure that Outlook is Pre-Configured for Exchange Server and not Pop3. You will want to insure that you can get in using a test user, for example. The only caveat with a test user on a client build is that you need to change the default mail client to something other than Outlook. When a client logs in and Outlook is started, they are prompted for Outlook being the default client and this adds the Outlook icon to the Quick Launch tray. Here is what we have in the PRF file.. code: [General] Custom=1 ; -- Required. Indicates that this is a customized PRF file. ProfileName=KDyer DefaultProfile=Yes OverwriteProfile=Yes DefaultStore=Service2 BackupProfile=NO [Service2] ConversionProhibited=TRUE HomeServer=OUREXCHANGESERVER MailboxName=KDyer ; Required. ; -- The name of the Microsoft Exchange Server the user should ; connect to. You can specify any Microsoft Exchange Server ; in your site, and the correct Home Server will be assigned ; when the user first logs on. [Service3] Ben=TRUE ; -- Dummy property. Do not delete or modify. We checked how you are starting PROFGEN/NEWPROF and it is the same. If any of the above points do not address your issue..
